
Mount Argopuro or Argopura (3088 m.dpl), including species that have a lot of mountain peaks, there are peaks in the range ± 14 Iyang Mountains. Located in Probolinggo East Java and in the supervision of the Sub KSDA (Natural Resources Conservation Center) Jember region. Mount Argopuro is a mountain that has the longest route between point the mountains on the island of Java. It has a historic legacy of the Prehistoric Age to the Japanese occupation.
Climbing Path
Line ascent to Mount Argopuro there are 2 main route commonly used by the climber, the first is through Baderan, Besuki or through the Village Bremi, Probolinggo. But climbers generally use an Bremi, Probolinggo toward Baderan Situbondo. Some of the reasons is the path closer to the summit, also if you all want to make the climb Rally in a number of adjacent mountains, commonly called Gorajen (Argopuro, roar and Ijen).
The trip to Mount Argopuro this average takes approximately 20 hours to 11 hours to go up and down, thus we must set up a tent on the trip. Therefore, warm clothing and sleeping gear (sleeping bag, mattress, tent, etc..) As well as cooking equipment is a must.
Bremi Line
To achieve Bremi Village (960 m.dpl) is very easy because there are public bus to the village which is 2 (two) times a day from Probolinggo bus terminal for long. Up in Bremi, we must report to the KSDA officers and POLSEK Krucil in Bremi to ask permission to make the climb and we do try to climb in the morning.
In Bremi should we stay to continue the journey in the morning. In this village, there are relatively inexpensive lodging. To stay we can contact the local community about who manages the inn. One of them is the former Dutch heritage inn that has a distinctive feature of the building.
The next day we walked along the rocky road, heading œAir Dinginâ Estates â € €??, Approached the gate turn right towards Lake Estates Garden of Life (1,900 m.dpl). After walking for 7 hours through the tropical forest plantations of resin and Bremi, we will reach Aeng Kenek. Arriving at Aeng Kenek, we traveled an hour, and we got to the Aeng Poteh or Cisentor, which is the crossroads to the top and towards Baderan.
In Aeng poteh, there are clear flowing river water, a whitish colored. That's why this place is called Aeng Poteh (Aeng = water, poteh = white).
In Aeng Poteh / intersection Cisentor, in certain months such as September, we will find the forest rats very much and hyperactivity. The rats are bold approach us and not hesitate to bite the carrier to menda \ npatkan food in it. So make sure that the carrier we are well protected. After traveling approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to the summit, we will pass bleat Swamp, where there are rivers that are drinking places mountain goats. Along the way many places to set up tents, and water is available is relatively abundant. It should be 1 hour longer to reach peak travel Rengganis (2920 m.dpl).
At Mount Argopuro, the peak is Peak frequented Rengganis, Argopuro (3088 m.dpl) rarely visited because the road is closed dense forest. On top of this Rengganis Rengganis Goddess statue ever found, which according to the story is the daughter of the last king of Majapahit, Raden UB, who fled and solitude on Mount Argopuro. At the peak is still found in temple ruins that had collapsed.
Rengganis peak, is a former crater sulfur. According to local belief in the Peak Rengganis have center of the kingdom of the supernatural creature (jin). So from time to time there are the visitors who put the offerings in this Rengganis Peak.
Line Baderan
To achieve Baderan Village, we are from Surabaya to Probolinggo by bus. Then forwarded to the Banyuwangi down in Besuki. From Besuki forwarded to the BESA Baderan (725 m.dpl), a distance of 22 km from Besuki, using public transportation.
Before the climb we had to report on KSDA officers and local police to ask for permission and prepare the water here, because we will find the water only in Water Resources (5 hours drive from Baderan). From Baderan we headed Cemoro Long (2141 m.dpl), for 7 hours of travel, past Water Resources (1710 m.dpl). Forest which was passed by pine forests and natural forest. From our Long Cemoro toward Small Square (2040 m.dpl), approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, and proceed towards the Great Square, better known by Sikasur (2,500 m.dpl), for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Travel 3 hours from Cikasur we arrive at Aeng Cisentor Poteh or intersection, junction Baderan - Top - Bremi. Argopuro down from the peak, we can select down through Bremi for 11 hours, or return via Baderan for 13 hours.
Sikasur, a broad meadow, very nice to be camping, because there is a small river that flows clear decorated Watercress plants (the locals call it Arnong). In this Sikasur there is also a former airfield built by AJM Ledeboer in the 1940s. Airport, reportedly used for deer farming activities which brought in from outside, the remnants of the population is still there but less and less.
