Paragliding at Batu - Malang


Paragliding sport which can only be enjoyed by certain circles, has become one of the potential vehicle for tourism in Batu, East Java, which can be enjoyed by all people, including the general public who want to test your nerve.

Chairman of the Executive Branch (Pengcab) Federation of Aero Sport All-Indonesia (FASI) Batu Imron Solihin, Tuesday (29 / 1), recognizes, as a new potential for a vehicle and can be enjoyed by the wider community, sports paragliding still need improvement and serious attention, particularly infrastructure and means of support to the location.

"Moreover, paragliding that takes a landing area at Mount Many become one of the leading Java in the Visit Indonesia Year 2008, the infrastructure and supporting facilities should be worked seriously," he said

The current condition is still not adequate as the parking area, public toilets, as well as other supporting facilities.

To popularize the new tourism potential, he said, it also took the Association of Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI), in order to be promoted and become a tour package that can be offered on the hotel guests who travel to Stone Town.

Technically, a former gym teacher said that, people who want to enjoy the panoramic view and the beauty of Batu through paragliding, either individual or group can direct to the FASI and to bear the cost of Rp250 thousand for a single flight, including equipment and accompanied by a professional athlete as a tandem paragliding .

In response to inadequate public facilities as supporting tourism paragliding, Head of Division (Head) Marketing Selfianingsih Stone Town Tourism Office said it with related offices involving FASI and PHRI soon to discuss coordinating the development of paragliding tours in the area.

He argues, in the near future the company would talk continuously with the Perhutani or Forest Service of Malang Regency, because the location of paragliding at Mount Many pass through the region of Malang regency which will be the main route to the location.

"Honestly, today we are still waiting for budget approval in 2008, although we've made the program include the development and addition of facilities at tourist sites paragliding, we still 'road in place' if the budget does not exist," he said.
