Temple Ngawen
Ngawen Temple is one of the many temples scattered around Magelang. His name was lost with the famous Borobudur and Mendut. This temple until now has not been completely refurbished. Arkoelogi Experts still searching form the beginning, besides still scavenging the ruins of this temple.
The temple is located in the village Ngawen Ngawen Muntilan District. Precisely located 2 km south of the tomb complex of Kyai Raden Pupils, Mount Pring, and about 5 km east Mendut. According to estimates, this temple was built during the Borobudur temple which is in the House of dynasty. Unlike other Buddhist temples, Temple Ngawen consists of 5 (five) small temples. But only one fifth of the whole temple again, and even then without a roof.
The temple facing east is located ditepian Muntilan Blongkeng time, a river believed to contain lots of sulfur. This temple was first discovered in 1864 by a Dutchman named Hoepermans. The process of restoration completed in 1927.
