Bird Island

Serang Bird Island is about 20 km from the town of Serang. The entrance to the site are on the road connecting the highway district of Serang, Banten Lama with helter District. Many buildings have a bird's nest volume beat modest homes surrounding population. Majority owner was not there.

The island is located in Banten Bay, located on the north or the south eastern city of Serang Banten region. Once the island is separated from the island of Java with 500m wide strait. If the tide receded, the island was united with mainland Java. Over time, due to silting Cibanten River, this inter-island boundaries are becoming blurred. Especially now, silt pond was used by locals. Fusion of these two islands is not something unique in the world of geology, and commonly referred to as forming Tombolo. Tombolo typically arise when the distance is smaller than the width of the strait islands, the sea depth is relatively shallow, the flow in one direction or the source of sedimentation.

Administratively, the island of Two including Luhur Rice Village, District Kasemen, Serang, Banten Province, by geographical location 106 ° -21 'E and 6 ° 01 LS. The average rainfall is 1500-2000 mm per year of the wettest. January and August is the driest month with an average temperature of 26 ° C. The height of the island between 00-10 m asl. Land of the western part of the island a bit dry, while the east is generally low and swampy. Soil with high sand content are not able to hold rain water and land on the island is generally dry. No fresh water source. Swamp water that welled up from the sea when tide.
The island is a nature reserve managed by Natural Resources Conservation Center (KSDA) (not) Banten Province? For some reason in the guardhouse in the middle of the island of West Java province was still writing. Because of the lack of attention Banten Provincial Government? Later I just know that although Banten is a province of its own, the monthly salary of rangers on the island was still paid by the KSDA West Java Province.
