Monument Jalesveva Jayamahe (MONJAYA)
Before you can reach this monument, we must go through two gates of a tight guard, if not there was a program or a regular day, wow, I can not know what everyman deh go there, because this is a forbidden zone for the common entrance.
Once separated from the gate guard our first greeted with some education and housing complex TNI-AL, about 1 km we will meet again the second guard gate (last), well here all vehicles must not be signed unless there is consent, coincidentally the time that we can permit to enter the area, to be invited sightseeing contents of this base.
The first entry we will look back a few warships didermaga, ranging from the type korevet to LST, wah pokonya really exciting, we were invited to round off the wharf where the ship bersandarnya confiscated and later, we arrived in front of the monument which had a 60.6 meters high, situated at the threshold of the dock, it turns out I was given another chance to see up close this monument.
Called the Monument Jaleveva Jayamahe (MONJAYA) because it was taken from the motto of the Navy means "we are victorious in the sea." This monument is 60 meters high, consists of a circular four-story concrete building that used 30-meter-high bronze statue pedestal 30 meters. The monument is a statue of a Navy colonel dressed in military service, hands on her hips and holding the sword of command. The colonel's eyes stared into the vast sea. On the ground floor of the building there is a gong round the displays, called Kyai Tentrem, which had a weight may be about 2 tons more with a diameter of 5 meters, the gong is used to using that for the inauguration of this monument by President Suharto.
This monument was mentioned second highest in the world after the Statue of Liberty, which has more than 75 meters high, but if I think this is the world's tallest monument, when compared with the head of the Statue of Liberty, Monjaya just a few feet shorter. But because of Liberty's hand raised, so he is taller, try the colonel's hands if the hands were raised, let alone his sword pointed upward, but less good sword brandished position to create the impression of authority.
