Human Tragedy Monument was built to bomb Bali Kuta on Saturday night October 12, 2002 in Jalan Legian Kuta which killed as many as 202 people died from 22 countries and 324 people suffered serious injuries and wounds.
Very powerful bomb blast which also caused destruction and damage to buildings and vehicles within a radius of one kilometer. Since the tragedy of the tourism industry as the backbone of Bali's economy suffered the most serious slump in history, but thanks to the persistence of the whole society and the government is now slowly but surely has undergone restoration.
This monument was built in the former area of the explosion (Ground Zero) and the most prominent part of this monument is "Kayonan" with a large white wooden leaf as a symbol of the universe and its contents. At the bottom kayonan have inscriptions which lists all the victims died and their nationality.
