Guru Museum was inaugurated on 26 July 1971 by the Regents Luwu that time, Andi Achmad. He is one of the heirs of King Luwu. Objective of establishing this museum is to preserve the cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Luwu to be passed on to the next generation. Guru museum building which was founded in 1920 is the former Royal Palace is Luwu.

Guru Museum has a collection of 831 pieces consisting of a collection of prehistoric, heraldika, ceramics, ethnography, manuscripts, numismatic, and photos.

Guru Museum is located on the land area of 10,000 m² with a height of ± 20 m above sea level. The building of this museum has artsitektur European style. Building area of 968 m² and has a showroom area of 120 m². Museum facilities are equipped with:
