Volcano: Enjoy Fun Climb


Nature tourism is one of the alternative tourism destination communities, especially for those who live in urban areas. Taking a break from the noise and gaduhnya atmosphere in the city by enjoying the beautiful panorama of nature, at least to reduce the sense of vertigo due to work too many exhausting and mind.

The volcano as one of the highest mountain in the region of West Java province in addition to Mount Ciremai, is a tourist attraction that would deserve to be visited. Tourist attraction located in Garut include well-known natural tourist attraction, especially for those who have a hobby of mountain climbing, whether they live in the area of West Java province and outside the province of West Java. The location of this tourist attraction was fairly very easy to be reached through land transportation for almost approximately 2.5 sd 3 hours.

As with other mountains, to go mountain Papandayan there are several entrances, one through the entrance located in the Village District Pakejeng Pamulihan which is the most common entrance pass the climbers. Arriving in the village of Pakejeng, we actually still have to walk towards the foot of the mountain at once to the post registration Papandayan a pretty far distance, which is approximately 8 to 10 km (according to population information) with the condition of the road uphill.

But if we do not want tired or bring lunch money pretty much, we actually can rent Dolák (car pickup) to reach the foot of the mountain, but of course the price is quite high. Arriving at the foot of the volcano, we are required to register by paying the administrative fee of USD 1500.00 (2000) and we were required to store personal identity card or a group. For climbers who want to take a break after the trip was enough to drain a lot of sweat, can set up a tent in the campsite area Camp Davies.

For those who want to continue climbing to the summit of the mountain, first must travel long distances for hours with the rocky and uphill journey. Here the climbers have to be careful, because if not, could slip and fall on large rocks located around the road so that lives may be at stake.

Halfway between Camp Davies with Papandayan mountain top, we can witness a natural phenomenon that is so clearly visible in front of the eyelid, which is how the blast of hot steam escapes from the earth and remove the smell is so overpowering, probably because it contains the element sulfur. Here typically the climbers taking the time to capture pictures with natural phenomena that may not be available in other natural tourist area.

When traveling almost at the top of the mountain Papandayan, travel conditions will be felt more soothing seikit because trees. In contrast to previous conditions, the air was hot because there is seldom travel around trees towering that can withstand hot sun and the only form of cliffs and large rocks.

Arriving at the top of the mountain Papandayan or better known as Pondok Saladah, there is pride for the climbers who succeeded in achieving it. Nature was looking very beautiful views from the summit of the mountain, as if we were above the clouds that lay like a giant white rug.

We can also see or even pick flowers eidelweis which is also mentioned as a perennial flower, flowers that never wilt though learned and never lost its distinctive aroma. This flower is a flower which are rare because it only grows on top of mountain cold climates and not all the mountain peaks covered with flowers of this species.

Although the air at the top of the mountain was very cold, but it seemed to disappear by the natural beauty around the top of the mountain that presents an atmosphere that is not obtainable elsewhere. Finally, we can only say "Almighty God with all forms of beauty that he created."
