Located in the City Tenggarong approximately 45 km from the city of Samarinda, and 110 km from the city of Balikpapan. The museum was inaugurated on 25 November 1971 by the Governor of East Kalimantan (HA Wahab Syahranie), and submitted to the Ministry of Education and Culture on February 18, 1976. There is an old collection of gamelan, as high (throne), broom cannon universe and the collection of Bulungan Sultan, Sultan of Sand, Sultan and Sultan Mountain Sambaliung Tabur. Tomb of King Kutai located beside the museum.
