17 Island Riung like "Paradise Under the Sea" unspoiled. This island group consists of small islands and coral islands that lie ahead Riung Bay. Natural submarine from the islands are rich in biodiversity. In addition, the hilly area around Riung (Flores Island) is inhabited by giant lizards Riung specific. Locals call it "Mbou".
When the lizard called the Komodo dragon Varanus komodoensis, it is also known as monitor lizards Varanus Riung Riungensis. The island is one of the island bats found in the park 17 islands ruing.
Nature Recreation Area lies Riung Sea extends from Toro Padang in the west to the east of the island Pangsar. Sub Riung consists of five villages namely: Sambinasi, Nangamese, Central Fortress, Tadho and Lengkosambi. Sea Rose is one of the existing glazed attractions in the park 17 Riung and white sand island is the place where the baths are located on an island of 17 other islands.
Riung can be reached by bus for three hours of Bajawa, the Capital District Ngada or one hour by bus from Mbay. Traveling by plane from Java can be done through Jakarta / Surabaya-Denpasar-Maumere or Jakarta / Surabaya-Denpasar-Ende and continued by bus to Bajawa and Riung. Car rental is also available in Maumere and Ende.
